Hello friend,

I think of you and your soft scent,

your vivacious nature,

and the grace that you give

to those you want to keep.

It’s been a while since I’ve chosen to shift our bond

into the intangible, to let it descend

I can recognize your generosity

in many forms

I believe that all is meant to be exactly

what is is now,

and I am allowed to miss you;

to miss lying beside you

and watching the moon kiss your dark skin,

as it blanketed the both of us

and the small world we could turn to

You wanted to keep that place alive

even as you stepped out of it

to acknowledge and journey through

the bigger world,

which you have no control of.
