DISSIPATE
A fragment of sunlight sat as a patch on a rooftop
The windows of the building concealed images
of whatever bodies swarmed the place
Its amber stature left a bare, blank space
for imagination to cut through
the natural order of day
He imagined the sight of bodies flailing around
Their whims held by the looped gates
that made up the building’s rooftop
They danced near the cross that topped the building
They were untouched,
as he could only touch them with his vision
He imagined this to be freedom
He imagined a day in a world
where he’d find himself walking into the building
and being granted access to the top of the Amber Palace
to spread his own wings
