PIANO KEYS
Sun rays ran across my skin
in the deepest darkest faze
as I met his gaze
I just knew it was fate
a matter of faith had brought me to this place
There is no way to imitate
the unsettling way my heart raced
I stood, my heartbeat a tenacious bass
The eyes that carried an ocean,
slowly moving, spoke clearly to me
as I watched all of his silent words
Heat coiled through my body
as the sunlight’s paint wiggled across the brown waters
of the eyes before mine
In the overwhelming unknown, I felt excitement
I felt a nervous peace, and purpose
all at once
my excitement unconcealed
as my lips failed to stay together,
lightly parting,
revealing how focused,
how unrelaxed I was before him
